INVITATION CEIPA Round Table on Migration Agenda;
“Fostering Regular Migration, Development and Economic Cooperation” Event organized in support of the European Development Days 2017
Dear friends of CEIPA,
I am very pleased to invite you to participate in the CEIPA Round Table, in cooperation with CBL-ACP, on “Migration Agenda: Fostering Regular Migration, Development and Economic Cooperation” taking place on 8 June 2017, from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm in the main auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Belgium – Luxembourg – Africa-Caribbean – Pacific (CLB – ACP) rue Montoyer 24 1000 BRUSSELS
Organized by the Centre for European and International Policy Action (CEIPA), in support of the European Development Days 2017, this event will take place in the middle of a controversial and unsettled discussion between EU member states and EU institutions on how to handle future migration.
CEIPA puts forward that transparent and clear norms for orderly and regular migration may considerably foster business, trade, investment and creation of new jobs to the benefit of ACP countries as well as Europe. Regular and orderly migration should be a sustainable and transparent tool for cooperation, innovation and economic prosperity through the creation of new jobs. Good governance, the respect of human rights and the rule of law are indispensable for creating conducive conditions in that respect.
CEIPA invites you, along with other opinion and business leaders, experts, academics and civil society representatives to discuss the new initiatives in this field, provide fresh ideas and tangible support to the discussions taking place at the European Development Days 2017 and to the EU-Africa Business Forum taking place on 7 June 2017, a highly influential hub to promote business and investment between Europe and Africa.
CEIPA is organizing this event to fill a gap created by a long overdue common EU migration policy that clearly promotes economic development, business, investment and job creating new sustainable ties between the ACP and Europe, a topic which will certainly be on the agenda of the 5th Africa-EU Summit of Heads of State and Government, due to take place on 29-30 November 2017 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Your participation in this CEIPA round table and debate with policy makers would contribute further to the on-going efforts for constructive solutions in the above complex field.
For related information about the above topic, please visit , the new EU-Africa Business Forum website, the European Parliament website, the European Development Days 2017, and the United Nations website.
