Helga Konrad

Dear Friends,

It is truly a very sad and shocking message for all of us.

It is with profound sorrow that we at the Center for European and International Policy Action (CEIPA) extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Helga Konrad.

Helga was a trailblazer and pioneer in the fight for human rights and against human trafficking, not only in her native Austria but across the European Union and beyond. Her unwavering dedication to advancing women’s rights and protecting the most vulnerable has left an indelible mark on the global stage.

Through the years, CEIPA had the privilege of working closely with Helga and the Regional Implementation Initiative, which she founded. Our many joint initiatives were enriched by her wisdom, vision, and tireless commitment to justice. Helga’s leadership, passion, good heart and resolve inspired everyone who had the honor of working alongside her, and her legacy will continue to guide and motivate all of us.

Her absence will be deeply felt, but her remarkable contributions will live on, and we will continue the work she so fervently championed in her memory. We celebrate Helga’s life, her courage, and her invaluable contributions to a more just and equitable world.

Our thoughts are with her relatives, friends, and all who knew and loved her during long years.

With heartfelt sympathy,

CEIPA Team
